Markus Häuptli

Markus Häuptli originates from the region of Aarau, a small town in the north of Switzerland. His musical roots however lie somewhere else entirely - to tell his stories, he finds his inspiration in America and England's greatest singer-songwriters, such as Steve Earle, Billy Joe Shaver, John Prine, Ralph McTell, Townes Van Zandt, Jeff Tweedy and others.

Over the course of the past few months, Markus has been remastering his earlier works, re-recording and remastering guitars, vocal and other instrumental parts. The results of this process are already partly available on multiple online-platforms such as spotify or apple music.

The most recent result is his fifth album “Brooklyn Bakery", which was recorded throughout spring 2024 and was released on 8th june 2024. It contains 9 songs by Markus Häuptli and a cover version by Tom Petty.
